A Critical Itinerary through the Life of Mohammed

I have come across many books on life of Prophet Muhammed including Ar-Raheeq-ul-Makhtum by Safi-ur-Rehman Mubarakpuri which was awarded first prize by the Muslim World League, at the first Islamic Conference on Prophet’s History, following an open competition for a book on the ‘History of Prophet Muhammed’. And it was a remarkable reading experience both literally and in its depth. There can be seen many much sung creations on Prophet Muhammad’s history like ‘Muhammed’ by Haykal, ‘Introducing Muhammed’ by Ziauddhin Sardar. Thousands of books were published on Prophet from various perspectives, and countless papers and theses were presented by now in different topics on the same prophet. Every creation owns its own positions and joins hands to express the subject matter must necessarily have been exhausted.
Prophet’s life is the first interpretation of the Holy Qur’an. Thus prophet’s every deeds and deals will be on the base of reasons which interpret Islamic principles consist in Qur’an. Thus the reasons of each deeds of prophet’s life are being reread day by day through the papers, theses and mostly through the Qur’anic interpretations. But it is rare when it comes to historical narrations, especially in a comprehensive way for both Muslims and non-Muslims, but still thought provoking analysis. This is what makes the renowned scholar Tariq Ramadan’s ‘The Messenger; The Meanings of the Life of Muhammad’ different from all other creations.
Muhammed was complete man. A guide and a model for all; as a well-mannered son, a lovely father, an ideal husband, a best friend, a sensible judge, an influential teacher a well-qualified leader, a commander- in chief more over a ruler of vast wide Arabian peninsula. This book goes through each stage of prophet’s life and analyzes the historical events that filled prophet’s life, the situations especially social political and cultural he passed through, character, attitudes and words that could reveal prophet’s personality.
This profound and stimulating biography addresses some of today’s most controversial issues from the treatment of the poor and the role of women in the society to interpretation of jihad and relations with other religion and countries.

Uncompleted, will never be completed.
